Kairi tugged him along to the shore, clinging his hand tightly. She jumped up to hug him again as they reached the shore. “My question is,” Kairi started, tugging him down to her height and kissing on his neck before asking; “why are you so warm?” She murmured, nuzzling his bare chest and leading him back to the curved palm.
Axel shrugged and lifted her up by her waist, positioning her to wrap her legs around his own waist. He held her steady as they walked further out of the water, till the waves were lapping against his ankles and finally till he had reached dry sand. He held her close, keeping her body tight against his till he could feel the movement of her chest as she breathed. Counting each second between each breath, matching his own with hers till he felt as connected to her as he could.
“I’m not actually sure,” He chuckled. “As you know, I’ve forgotten quite a lot about my past. I guess I just have a naturally high body temperature? It’s not uncomfortable or anything, and it is quite useful for situations like these,” He whispered into her neck as he readjusted her body on his, accidentally grabbing her again with his hands on her butt. He felt his face heat up and he moved his hands back to where they had been previously. “Sorry, Kairi.”
Kairi sighed, clutching onto him. “I guess so huh?” She said kissing his cheek. Kairi felt his hand grip her rear and she let out an embarrassed squeak. “A-Axel!” She yelped, instinctively jumping and clawing his back, her chest now close to his face. Kairi quickly hid her face in his hair. “I-I’m so sorry..” She said as her body shivered. She was still chilly from the time they spent in the water, despite her blush that seemed to radiate her whole body.
He laughed nervously, before suddenly realising how close her chest was to his. Crap. Feeling the same heat he had felt in the water begin to course through his body, he set her down onto her feet and slipped his hand down with hers, lacing their fingers together. “Don’t apologise,” He said, scratching the back of his neck with his free hand. “It was my fault.” He glanced up at the tree they had been sitting on earlier, spotting their clothes draping over the trunk. “Come on, let’s go get my cloak for you.”
