Axel shivered at her touch, loving the feel of her skin against his. Jumping slightly at her teeth nipping at his bottom lip, he chuckled and held her steady as she slipped off the rock. ”Hm?” He focussed back on her and touched their foreheads together. Leaning his head against hers gently, he smiled and slid his hands up her back. “Sure, what do you want to know?”

Kairi tugged him along to the shore, clinging his hand tightly. She jumped up to hug him again as they reached the shore. “My question is,” Kairi started, tugging him down to her height and kissing on his neck before asking; “why are you so warm?” She murmured, nuzzling his bare chest and leading him back to the curved palm.

Axel shrugged and lifted her up by her waist, positioning her to wrap her legs around his own waist. He held her steady as they walked further out of the water, till the waves were lapping against his ankles and finally till he had reached dry sand. He held her close, keeping her body tight against his till he could feel the movement of her chest as she breathed. Counting each second between each breath, matching his own with hers till he felt as connected to her as he could.

“I’m not actually sure,” He chuckled. “As you know, I’ve forgotten quite a lot about my past. I guess I just have a naturally high body temperature? It’s not uncomfortable or anything, and it is quite useful for situations like these,” He whispered into her neck as he readjusted her body on his, accidentally grabbing her again with his hands on her butt. He felt his face heat up and he moved his hands back to where they had been previously. “Sorry, Kairi.”

Axel chuckled when he made eye contact with her again. “Sorry if that was a bit much,” He said, feeling his face heat up. “I thought I would give that whole confidence thing a try.” He kept his arms wrapped around Kairi, and carried her to a nearby outcropping in the middle of the water. Before putting the girl down onto the rock, he inspected it’s texture, noting that the waves crashing against it over the years had smoothed it out. He put Kairi down onto the rock, and moved closer to her between her legs. “When we get out, you can wear my cloak to keep yourself warm,” He smiled as he leaned in to kiss across her collarbone again. “I’m sure you would look very cute in it too.”

The current pushed against his hips and he swayed with the water, letting his eyes drift over the girl, the water lapping against the rocks beneath her, and the stars that were beginning to appear above them. He moved his hands down from her waist to her thighs and started rubbing circles on her skin with his thumb.

He looked up at her, making eye contact with her. “You have the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen,” He let one of his hands slide up her leg, back to where he had it on her waist. “Beautiful legs,” He said, while leaning down to kiss her thigh where his hand had been. “Beautiful, and incredibly cute tummy,” He laughed, trailing kisses across her stomach and letting his hand drift up to her cheek. “You’re beautiful, Kairi,” He said, holding her face gently with both hands and leaning in to kiss her lips.

Kairi hugged onto him tightly as she felt him walking,  his steps causing her to press against him repeatedly.  Her face was warm as she nuzzled his neck. She felt him setting her down, at first she wasn’t aware that there was a rock there, and she squeaked, clutching onto him. But the girl was calm again as he stood in front of her. “Axel..” she murmured, before she could speak further, he had moved himself between her legs.  Kairi’s face was flustered, as she quickly pulled her to him, his lips finding her collar bone again. She sighed, stroking her fingers through his hair.  The mention of her in his cloak made her laugh softly.

She clutched onto the man as the current pulled them closer to eachother.  Watching him as his eyes scanned over her, she realized she was wearing next to nothing and became extremely self-conscious. Her hands instinctively crossed over her chest, but the tension in her hips was slowly worked out by Axel’s hands rubbing against her skin.  As his eyes found hers, she tried to conceal how glossy hers were. She fidgeted as he spoke, the warmth in her tummy returning as his hands roamed over her legs.  She failed yet again at suppressing another anxious sound as his lips touched her thigh. She could feel his hand on her cheek and she grasped it tightly, as a sense of support. As his hands captured her face, she pressed her lips to his hurriedly, feeling as though this was the last time she’d see him—which by now, the girl knew wasn’t true. Kairi’s arms wrapped around him as she pulled her body closer to his, her damp skin pressing up against his.  Her legs were shaking again, and she wouldn’t have even noticed it had her calves not sank back into the water.  The moon and stars were fully out now; their light casting a pale glow on the two of them “Axel..” Kairi breathed against his lips.

Axel sighed at the sound of his name slipping from her tongue. His whole body surged with heat at this point, wrapping his arms around her again and pulling her closer, wanting desperately to be as close as he possibly could to Kairi. He knew they could be closer than they were, skin against skin, but he needed to be comfortable with her and she with him. He had known her for such a short amount of time, that he just felt it was necessary to know her better before they went any further together. Not that he was complaining, holding the girl, kissing her skin, and spending this much time together was enough to last him a lifetime. He kept his lips against hers and smiled, before kissing her repeatedly.

He reached behind her and slipped his hands up into her hair, holding her lips against his. “Would you like to get out of the water yet?” He asked, saying each word between every long kiss.

Kairi tried again and again to suppress her sighs as he kissed her shoulders, all of said attempts failed, and she couldn’t help it.  Kairi felt his arms tighten on her as she was whirled around, now facing him, “What—?” she started, before feeling his hands urge her legs forward; she instinctively wrapped them around his hips.  Her ankles locked behind him, she placed her arms on his chest, clutching onto his shoulders gently.  ”A-Axel..” she shivered, again, feeling his lips on her collarbone, she shook her head at his words.  ”No you’re warming me up, actually..” she said, her eyes glazing over slowly. “Why is that?” she asked absently. Kairi felt herself elevate and she gripped his shoulders tightly, “Axel-?” she asked, her vision re focusing as he dipped under the water. Despite her best efforts, she couldn’t resist the sound that escaped her lips, hoping Axel hadn’t heard under the water, where his lips were now giving her abdomen the same treatment they gave her neck and shoulders. When he broke surface, she winced as water splashed on her, waking her up a bit more.  Kairi’s face was flushed and she couldn’t find words to say to him.  However she relaxed as she was pulled closer to him, his hands on her waist as he laughed. Her heart thudded in her chest as he spoke. “Very f-funny,” she started, trying to stop her teeth from chattering.

Kairi nuzzled her face into his chest, sighing and letting her hands trace over his back. Her whole body was reacting everytime he touched her, and it while it made her feel warm, it also frightened her. “Axel..” she cooed, her lips latching onto his collar bone, she looked up at him, holding onto him tighter.

Axel watched Kairi run out and dive into the water, noting that she had decided to remove her dress before joining him. He felt his face heat up, not expecting her to strip down that much. Before she could return to the surface and see him blushing, he dived down into the water so he was out of sight and swam to where she had entered the water. As someone with a naturally high body heat, even he was feeling the cold temperatures, so he could only imagine how cold she must feeling in the water.

When he spotted the movement of her legs treading in the water, he moved around till he was behind Kairi and rose back up again. She had landed just far enough in for his feet to be able to touch the ground, so he stood steadily and wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder and leaving light kisses on her neck. “See? It’s not so bad in the water,” He said while trailing kisses down her shoulder and onto her collarbone.

image

Kairi looked up, deciding to swim next to Axel—but he was gone. “Axel?” she said, her teeth chattering. She felt panic bubbling in the pit of her stomach. Sudden;y, she heard water break behind her, causing her to gasp. She relaxed when she saw red spikes of hair, “You s-scared me.” she said, shivering and shaking her head at him, her flushed face looking back at him.  Before she could turn around to face him, arms snaked around her waist, causing her face to radiate more heat. “Axel..” she whined, gripping onto his hands and rubbing circles over them with her fingers. Kairi sighed as he began kissing her neck, his words dripped with sweetness and she could hardly stand it. She shook her head in response to his question, “N-not so bad..” she said, her body shuddered from the water that splashed up around her chest, sending frenzies of cold throughout her body. “Just chilly.”

image

Kairi melted into him, her body relaxing against his as his lips trailed down her neck. She looked at him, her face still red. “Axel..” she murmured, h\one of her hands reaching up to touch his hair. She ran her fingers through his red locks as her vision became fuzzy again.

Axel chuckled, continuing to kiss along Kairi’s shoulders, feeling her skin heat up on his lips. Keeping his grip on her tight, he turned her around and lifted her legs to wrap around his hips. “I’m sorry,” He muttered, returning his lips to her collarbone. “I didn’t think it would be so cold for you."

He held Kairi up and lowered himself into the water, till it washed over his head. Not that he’d intended to, Axel found himself at the same height of the girl’s abdomen, and began planting his lips against her skin again till he ran out of breath. When his head broke the surface again he shook his hair out, secretly hoping Kairi would get hit with a few drips in the process.

He laughed, and held the girl closer to his torso, letting his arms slide back around her waist. "Maybe those kisses helped you warm up a bit? If not, I could give you some more,” He teased.

Axel smiled at the ground, picturing how red she must be getting now. He didn’t mean to make her blush, but, he wasn’t going to complain now that he had. He stepped closer to the edge then dived in, feeling the water swallowing him up. The temperate bit him on impact, then became a warm embrace when he rose back to the surface and settled into a calm tread.

“Well?” He called out, looking back up at the girl. “Care to join me?” The lack of confidence he had felt while up with the girl had quickly fled, and now he waited for the beautiful girl to join him again, wanting to feel the heat of her body against him in the water. He started flicking water up at where Kairi stood, grinning and laughing as he did so.

Kairi squeaked when she felt water splash onto her from him diving in. “What are you—” Kairi started, but he was already under. She bit her lip as his head rose from the water. She walked closer to the edge of the water and shook her head at him, trying to make her blush die down a bit.  Although she was fairly certain that her trembling was noticeable, even from the water.

Kairi wanted to whine.  She did not like the sudden lack of him next to her at all. But was it okay to get in the water?  Kairi fumed, wrestling her thoughts. She wanted to be near Axel, that much she was sure of, but it was the ocean, at night, night time meant sharks, or who knows what else. Kairi scolded herself, why did that matter? There were rarely ever sharks at Destiny Islands, in truth she was probably just shy and her nerves were all over the place. She was pulled out of her thoughts when she felt water hit her again, “H-Hey!” she squeaked, her voice cracking in nervousness. Axel was laughing and that made her warm again, and she sighed, blushing yet again. She quickly maneuvered behind one of the palms and shed her dress, looking anxiously out at the water and Axel.

Kairi gulped and began mustering up all her courage.  Before it could deplete to nothing again, she bolted out from behind the tree and dived into the water. It was low tide, but the shivers that sparked up her spine suggested otherwise. She broke surface, shaking her head and pushing her hair from her eyes.  The air hit her skin, causing goosebumps to arise on her shoulders, neck and the uppermost part of her chest. She blushed, treading water; even though the tide was gentle, they were in deep enough so that she couldn’t touch the bottom.

Axel watched Kairi run out and dive into the water, noting that she had decided to remove her dress before joining him. He felt his face heat up, not expecting her to strip down that much. Kairi blushed a deep red as he kissed her hand. She watched him in curiosity as he backed away from her. “Was he leaving her?"  she thought, panicked, as she hopped down and went to clutch onto his hand.  But she was stopped as the redhead shed his cloak.

"A-Axel—!” she gasped, unable to take her eyes off of him. Her blush stained her whole body as she quickly covered her eyes, feeling as though she wasn’t suppose to see him like this. His words rang in her ears as she processed them, gulping, she nodded and tried to calm herself down; as she was now trembling from head to toe.

Axel smiled at the ground, picturing how red she must be getting now. He didn’t mean to make her blush, but, he wasn’t going to complain now that he had. The small amount of oxygen he had managed to take in came rushing out when she said those four words. Feeling her nose brush up against his neck tickled, but he couldn’t get enough of it. He couldn’t get enough of her voice, or her scent, and he…

Kairi kept her arms locked around his neck and blushed lightly as Axel lifted her chin. “Hm?” She hummed, gazing up at him. A pang of heat surged through her entire body as she felt his lips meld to hers. Her mind was blank and her heart was pounding in her chest as she tightened her grip around him. Her thoughts were fuzzy and she felt like she was floating, only focused on one thing…

Axel.

She pulled away briefly, running her hand over his cheek to his chest. “Axel..” She sighed, pressing her forehead against his. She couldn’t help but smile. What on earth had made her so attracted to this man was beyond her, but she was sure of it now; she wasn’t leaving his side. She couldn’t. Kairi fiddled with the chain on his cloak as she pressed kisses against his lips again, trailing them over his cheek and to his jaw.

Axel shivered at each kiss, and as the trail of kisses drifted down to his jaw he tensed up. He had never been in a situation like this before, holding a girl he genuinely liked, her trailing kisses over his skin. He slipped down off of the tree, holding Kairi’s waist so she wouldn’t fall off with him. He stood in front of the girl, took her hand in his and kissed it, then put it down onto her thigh and stepped back again.

He turned around to face the water and removed his cloak, letting it fall down past his shoulders. The cloak dropped around his feet and he stepped away from it, then kicked off his boots and walked to the edge of the small outcrop. He looked back over his shoulder to the girl still sitting on the tree. “Do you think the water is warm?”

Not that he needed to hear her say it again, the memory would be seared into his brain forever. Kairi had managed to find her own place inside of his heart in the short time they had been together, and if she ever left him the pain would be too much to bear. Her breath against his neck when she said his name again sent a flare of heat throughout his body. His hand reached into her hair and his fingers slid between auburn locks, the movement of it causing her scent to drift around him again. He shivered and readied himself to speak again. ”I think… I’ve fallen for you, Kairi.”

Kairi shuddered as he exhaled against her, her legs trembling slightly. She kept her face nestled in his neck, her breaths becoming shorter and heavier. “I really do..” she answered, her fingers twirling locks of his hair absently. She felt her body tingling everytime he moved. And she couldn’t help but pull him closer.

That’s when she felt him run his hand through her hair, and she tensed up, relaxing after she heard his voice again.  His words seemed to echo through her as he said them and she moved her face up and kissed his cheek repeatedly before returning to nuzzling his neck. “I’ve fallen for you too,” she started, keeping her voice a whisper. “Axel..”

Axel let a small smile touch his face as he looked down at Kairi, feeling the girl’s legs tremble against him he blushed and hid his face in her hair. She said it again and he took a deep breath, almost as if he was taking in every word she was saying, finding a place to store it all within his body.

He froze when she lifted her head, and before he knew it her lips were against his cheek, not just once, but again and again he felt her soft lips touch his skin. His eyes stayed locked on the horizon, unsure of how to react to this beautiful girl kissing him. Then she started speaking again, and it was like his whole world had exploded at her next words. He wanted to grab her and kiss her and take her on dates to the middle of nowhere and follow her to the ends of the earth and back. He reached down with one hand and lifted her face to his, taking a shallow breath and gulping harder than any man about to risk everything had gulped before. As he felt his sudden burst of confidence quickly dwindling, his hand under Kairi’s chin started shaking, and he began leaning down to her, closing the gap slowly till his lips touched hers.

Kairi’s vision became fuzzy as he held her to him.  Her whole body was warm and she wrapped her arms snugly around him. Kairi was always friendly, but her attraction to him had just blown up out of nowhere.

And she didn’t mind.

Her hands played with his red spikes of hair as she listened to his heart thudding in his chest. She didn’t know what to say, she just knew she needed to stay like this for as long as she could. But then she heard him. The blood rushed to her face as he spoke, and she shivered, her stomach filled with butterflies. She moved her head just enough so she could look up at him, “Axel..” she murmured, her eyes slightly glazed over.

He knew she had heard him when she lifted her head and spoke. His name falling off of her tongue sounded like angels and made his chest ache. He couldn’t pull his eyes away from hers, not that he wanted to. Crap, crap, crap. She heard me. He opened his mouth in an attempt to speak, to clean up the mess he had made, but the air caught in his throat and nothing come out. He just sat there staring, his mouth open and his arms trembling around the girl.

Kairi smiled, her eyes half lidded, and nuzzled his neck. “It’s okay.” she said, her fingers toying with his hair idly. She didn’t mean to make him uncomfortable. She pressed into him. “It’s okay. You don’t have to be nervous.” she said as she took note of his trembling.  ”I feel..  the same.” she said, blushing. Her mind was going into overdrive as butterflies filled her tummy. She wasn’t sure of much, but she was sure that she needed him in her life.  ”Axel.” she breathed into his neck.
