Kairi looked out at the water. She forgot a lot when she thought about it. Kairi nodded slowly. “I forgot my best friends..” Kairi admitted, shrinking deeper into Axel’s cloak. “I didn’t even remember that I forgot them at first..” She bit her lip again, “I want to tell you that I forgot where I came from..” She cast her gaze down, aching to grab hold of his hand again. “But I don’t know to begin with.”
He nodded, knowing fully well the feeling that she was describing. “I’m sorry that you forgot about your friends, but I take it that you remember them now,” He said, taking her hand in his and holding it on his lap, rubbing his thumb in circles against her skin. “I don’t remember mine, I’m not even sure if they exist or if it’s something I’m making up. How did you manage to remember yours?”
